Here at Drover, we believe that you have to dress for success. Or, in the case of driving for a rideshare company, you need to have all the gear. To help supply our Drovers with all the essentials, we have launched the Drover Shop -- your one-stop shop for everything Drover and general ride sharing essentials. The Drover Shop supplies rideshare drivers with everything from essential Drover Rideshare gear to specially designed accessories to outfit any vehicle. Drovers can find all required Drover shirts and car safety accessories (like hands-free phone mounts). Additionally, we believe that drivers for other rideshare companies -- and just about anyone -- can find something useful at the Drover Shop.
Unlike other rideshare companies, Drover requires that all drivers wear a Drover t-shirt (short sleeve, long sleeve, polo, hoodie, etc) and also use a dashboard or air vent-mounted phone stand/magnet. We have embraced the uniform policy in order to promote a consistent level of professionalism during all Drover rides. We have made phone mounts mandatory for obvious safety reasons... It is ideal that drivers use their phones hands-free at all times, and especially when completing Drover Rides. The Drover Shop is the one-stop-shop for these Drover essentials. The Drover Shop sells custom Drover Apparel and some awesome dashboard-mounted and air vent-mounted magnetic phone mounts. I personally cannot wait to get my hands on our air vent-mounted magnets; Jeff put some in the mail for me to test out earlier this week.
Creating the Drover Shop website was a real treat, though it presented a fair amount of design challenges. First off, there was the immediate question of how to brand the online store component of a rideshare startup. I started by designing a new logo for the Drover Shop -- one that maintains the color palette and adorable electric car from the main Drover Rideshare logo, but one that also carries a bolder presence. I'm really happy with the way it turned out.
Listing our inventory, with the help of Hunter Goodson, Drover Chief Technology Officer, has also been great. Hunter has really spearheaded the effort to forge sustainable relationships with suppliers, as well as sift through dozens of phone mount models to find the perfect styles for us to supply. I believe that the phone mounts and apparel we supply are the ideal intersection between quality and affordability.
Like the Drover Hall of Fame Site, the design of the Drover Shop had to be carefully thought out. I wanted to communicate a feeling of movement without incorporating tacky animations, and of course, the signature Drover Green motif. I feel these two goals were aptly met through the parallax scrolling used on the DroverShop home page; the parallax scrolling makes it feel as if the text sections hover over fluid picture regions. To preserve and forward the Drover Green motif, I opted for a transparent green overlay over all banner pictures on the home page that, in my opinion, really looks fantastic.
